Is it Time Your Website was Redesigned?

www.perceptant101.com
Statistics prove that visitors will navigate away from a website that appears dated or has received little if any update to its news items, blogs or events. This seems logical but it is a fact that is largely ignored by many businesses. Business owners, for the large part, have no idea of the effects or the number of potential customers who are simply not impressed and leave.

To see what we mean, type in to Google a search string that best describes your business. Flick through the top 10 sites, some will grab your attention and encourage you to click further, others will not! At the end of the day, your website design and content makes a statement about your business and projects an image. Your website also reflects on your products/services and if your site design does not project an image of high quality, then it is probably time for some changes.

As a business owner or Director, you will have probably asked yourself the following question numerous times. With this in mind, here are a few things to think about when deciding whether you need a website to help promote your business.

How to Choose a Good Domain Name...

Perceptant101There are five specific SEO factors that affect how all domains are viewed by the search engines. This is true whether the name is old or new. However, there is a distinct advantage when starting with a new selection when you understand these factors and what their particular impact is upon SEO. You can build up your “ownership” in these areas and easily outrank any competition.

Before we get into the detail of this article, know that if you intend on making a quality acquisition you need to start looking for an aged domain name instead of one with no background; all the more so since .com domains are becoming rarer in the majority of niches. If you have an “aged” name – or plan to purchase an “experienced” one, it is important to know how these five measurable factors will affect your chosen name.

When you get a handle on what these five factors impact upon your domain, you can get a starting leg up on your competition for the top rankings in the SERPs.

Why Companies Should be on Twitter (especially in Chesterfield and Sheffield)...

In our humble opinion, here are the top 5 reasons your company should be on Twitter.

1. Listen to what people are saying
Twitter is a great tool to find out what people are saying about your company, products, or services.  Some free tools made available to you are:
  • Mentions – this is a quick and easy way to find what people are saying about you.  It’s located right in the navigation on your twitter account page (it will look like @youraccountname).  This will report any mentions of your name in people’s tweets.  For example: “I’m flying @British Airways to London”.
  • Search – This allows you to cast an even wider net in searching all of twitter for anything.  You can use this to see what people are saying about a specific product or service.  What’s really cool is you can subscribe to an RSS feed of this query and use any RSS reader to capture mentions of your name, product, service, or anything else.  This way you don’t have to keep on checking back – it’s all automagic!

Cost Effective e-Learning Development

Many consider e-learning development and production a black art. When you consider the amount of graphic design and html, flash, authorware, director and visual basic skills required, it’s easy to see why!

That’s why our latest e-Learning project is so pivotal for us.

Delivered under budget, within four weeks, was not something that even crossed our minds when we initially agreed terms in January 2011. However, after countless sleepless nights, the finished system was delivered yesterday to a number of schools and colleges across the UK.
